Much more confident.

Does anyone remember the days when I used to run and jump around the stage like some sort of powerful killer virus or whirlwind - picking up stuff and depositing it near the bar like a wayward teenager on a binge drinking asbo weekend? Me neither - now my live shows mean sit down on a stool and moan about the cold. Last night I played for half an hour at The Jolly Brewer's Open Mic Day, I was on at sunset, it was cold. Here's the set:

  • How Turns The tide
  • Coast To Coast
  • Cloudbusting
  • We Know How...
  • Day of the Triffids
  • The Bridge
  • Waiting For Answers
  • Take It Easy
It went well, there was quite a crowd and I didn't make any really bad mistakes (apart from dropping a pick in Waiting For Answers, something I couldn't really cover up). It was nice to play Cloudbusting again, as well as playing The Eagles' Take It Easy - a song I remember fondly, ever since hearing it on Knight Rider in the 80's. Especially good was Coast To Coast, which I haven't played for a year and a half - slow it down, make the chorus melody different, it's a whole new song!
Before heading to the Brewer to soak up the (alcohol) atmosphere I'd been bowling - a sore hand and forearm was what I got for my trouble, but also a vending machine at the bowling place was giving out free savoury and sweet snack foods! We stocked up on Square crisps and Toffee Crisps (completely different types of crisps there) before we left. I have recurring dreams about that sort of shit.
I also watched Xmen 3, which was ok, 6/10 let's say. I also attempted to watch Elecktra at about 4am on Sunday morning...bad move, 2/10. Must try harder.
