Crank holiday

It's a long weekend for some but not for me - Nottingham on friday night (unfortunately just a birthday bash and not a gig), recover till sunday, back to work on monday...

However: I have been asked to play at The Wheatsheaf in Waddington, Lincoln on monday - it's an all day fest type thing that's held on the back of a truck. I'll confirm asap but don't expect me before 6pm as I'm at work.

Last night at the Jolly Brewer and my now weekly slot on the open mic was cemented by a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday for friend Mat. It was his birthday. Then I played 'Repeater' and 'Day of the Triffids'. Anyone wondering what the song fitted into the middle of 'Repeater' was should be informed that it was the still brilliant 'Dead Industrial Atmosphere' by Leatherface.

Plus, with our zombie film possibly on a permanent hiatus, me and Piers may well be zombie types in a supermarket for a fellow zombie-lover's short film. I hope.

Don't be lunch.

I'm an animal

Hello, kiddywinks.

Good news = gigs ahoy:

  • Jolly Brewer, Lincoln - monday 12 September (Meadowfest warmup with Andy Neal)*
  • Meadowfest 2005, Donnington-on-bain, nr Louth - weekend of 17/18 September - Acoustic Stage, times and day to be confirmed
Also, if any Lincolnites read this I have discovered (well after everyone else, it seems) that the Jolly Brewer on Saltergate does an ace open mic night every wednesday. I played 'Waiting for Answers' and 'Day of the Triffids' there this week and it went exceptionally well. There is a great atmosphere. And you know how I love a party with a happy atmosphere.

I shall be there every wednesday from now on as they give everyone sandwiches at half time!
Sandwiches on offer this week:
  • Cheese and tomato
  • Cheese and Pickle
  • Ham and tomato
  • Beef

That's right! Beef! BEEF!

*We're awaiting confirmation of venue at the moment - this was originally planned for The Duke of Welly.
